ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Introducing Scott Kolecki, Corvette Historian and Enthusiast

For Scott Kolecki, Corvette has never just been a car — it has been a lifelong thread woven through memory, passion, and purpose.

His earliest experiences go back to childhood, when his grandfather would take him to local car shows and point out Corvettes among the chrome and tailfins. At home, his grandfather’s shelves held diecast models from the Franklin and Danbury Mint collections, and it was always the Corvettes that drew Scott’s eye. Those miniature cars were more than collectibles — they were sparks, igniting a fascination that never dimmed.

As he grew older, the connection deepened. A cousin owned a white C3, and Scott still remembers how the car stood out at family gatherings, a beacon of fiberglass and horsepower. After high school, he went to work at Merrick Chevrolet, where Corvettes weren’t just admired from afar — they were driven. The first Corvette Scott ever piloted was a 1996 C4 Grand Sport coupe, a car so unforgettable that the very next day he pulled out an old shoebox and began tucking away money for the dream of owning one himself.

It would take 20 years, but in 2017, that dream became reality with the purchase of his first Corvette: a 2013 C6 coupe. By then, Scott had already become deeply ingrained in the Corvette world. He launched Corvsport.com in 2010, building it into a trusted resource for enthusiasts who wanted more than surface-level coverage. And in 2025, he introduced his latest project — UltimateCorvette.com — envisioned as the most comprehensive digital Corvette archive yet, blending meticulous research with compelling storytelling.

Scott is also the author of two definitive titles: Corvette Concept Cars: Developing America’s Favorite Sports Car and Camaro Concept Cars: Developing Chevrolet’s Pony Car. These works showcase his historian’s eye for detail and his ability to connect dots across decades of design and innovation.

Over the years, Scott’s research and writing have been cited globally — on Wikipedia, by GM, by the National Corvette Museum, and across countless enthusiast platforms. Along the way, he has met many of the figures who shaped Corvette history, from designers and engineers to racers and cultural icons, cementing his reputation as both a chronicler and a participant in the Corvette story.

Today, as a lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum, Scott continues to preserve and share Corvette’s legacy. Whether exploring a Motorama dream car like the Corvette SS, unraveling the story behind the Stingray III, or documenting the milestones of production models, his work ensures that Corvette’s past remains alive — and that future generations of enthusiasts have a place to discover it.

Because for Scott, Corvette isn’t just history. It’s heritage, it’s culture, and it’s family — passed from a grandfather’s hand at a car show, to a shoebox of savings, to the keys of a Corvette of his own.
